Biography

Constance (Bell) Lindgreen, born in St. Augustine, Florida, grew up on the move, following her peripatetic aerospace-scientist father and poet mother to at least twenty cities, and resulting in an incurable case of wanderlust and love of discovery. She studied classics at St. John's College, Annapolis, MD, applying her knowledge of grammar, rhetoric and logic to a career as an international executive at a large IT firm. She worked in the US, England and Denmark, before retiring to France.

A chance encounter with Nanowrimo pushed her to try her hand at novellas. After joining the Crossroads Writers Club of Fontainebleau in 2013, she aimed for a larger audience, both in France and the U.S.  The International Club of Bordeaux competition selected "A Restaurant in Venice" for publication in 2015 . The Gascony Writers 2016 Anthology published another story - "A Case in Point."

A Case in Point" was recognized by a Special Mention in the 2017 Pushcart Prize XLII.

In September 2017, Korongo Press published Blue Fountain, an anthology of works by the Crossroads Writers Club, which includes three of her works.

In December 2017, two other stories won both the  Silver Medal and Judges Pick prizes in the 2017 Creative Writing Institute's competition and were published in CWI's themed Anthology.
She is currently at work on a collection of short stories and a fourth attempt at a novel.
